Pilgrimage to The Tower

In the Tarot deck of cards, the one card that has stood out with the most importance during the course of my life is 'The Tower'. While many interpretations exist, the most prevalent view of The Tower is that of cataclysmic change. Most view The Tower with dread, as the type of changes that are brought forth are usually fraught with difficulties initially. However, cataclysmic changes... while devastating at first... can bring about a rebirth of sorts.

This image is inspired by my own personal pilgrimage to The Tower. For many, The Tower is a result of ones own deeds and circumstances. I am no exception. My pilgrimage was born of my adddiction to alcohol. As I was nearing The Tower, and the end of my addiction, the warnings that I kept ignoring began to get closer and closer to each other... until they ended for good.

Many of us unknowingly make the pilgrimage. What The Tower represents will only be known to those who make it that far.
