Isn't this what we all do? Try to find and keep balance between all obligations, wishes, dreams, roles we play and things we want to do? Sometimes it's easy, sometimes not. But it's always fascinating and keeps us alive.

Things look different from different points of view. And maybe sometimes it would be good if we could bring our eyes in places which aren't accessible normally.

Another piece of my series about the question how it would be like if we could bring our eyes in places which aren't accessible usually.

The third artwork in my Eye Holder series. The overall idea is still: what would it be like, if we could bring our eyes in places/positions which aren't accessible usually.
Eye Holder 3 includes another idea: whatever other people tell us - and no matter how much we trust them - we should always try to look at what is said from another point of view. Not only because this can help us to find truth, but also because it may lead us to new ideas and expand our mind.

This one took me a freaking long time, approximately 80 hours.
I had the idea as I thought about human beings and that they often tend to assimilate to avoid conflicts. I thought: What if human beings would loose their individual "faces" and expressions more and more? Would an expressive face be something teachers talk about to their pupils: "Now look at this photo: People used to have their very own faces with individual expressions. But this led to a lot of conflicts, and over time, we became peaceful, loving and completely faceless people."? Nightmare :D. -- Photoshop CS 2, Wacom Intuos 3.

This one was somehow inspired by "Cemetery and Sundown" by Cradle of Filth.

As I saw the original photo (http://fav.me/d26eqhl) I thought that the parts of what might have been an arch look as if they watch each other, being so close, protected by the walls, but not able to come together again. Or - if you want to see it more negative :p - not able to escape.

I love surreal arts a lot, no matter which medium. Although I find almost all artworks in all genres at least interesting, I think surrealism is one of the the most creative genres.
